The Forbach Stables is based in the north of Mauritius in the region of Rivere du Rempart, about 15min from Grand Baie and 30min from Port Louis by car. We are located in a quiet area surrounded by agricultural land, mainly sugar cane, making The Forbach Stables a very relaxing place to spend time and enjoy horse riding.

The Forbach Stables is a friendly, family run, yard welcoming everyone from new riders to those who are more advanced. We offer both horse riding lessons and trail rides. At the heart of everything we do is the wellbeing of our horses and yourselves as riders. Horse riding is both great fun and great exercise for people of all ages, we cater for everyone and we are open for your enjoyment 6 days a week.

My girlfriend and I took 4 lessons during a two week break. The stables are really easy to get to and Carla is a brilliant instructor. I had never been on a horse before, but by the end I was happily trotting around the arena! The horses (mainly ex race horses) are looked after well and we are already missing Dandy and Ceasour. We will definitely go back on our next trip, to try a ride in the sugarcane fields or on the beach. Kosa & Lucy

Really enjoyed the riding lesson as we were both novices. We even trotted! This made us more confident to do the 1hr trail ride with 2 beautiful horses called Dandy & Caesour.
